The Semi Fowler cushion is a positioning cushion for a semi-seated position:
- When placed behind the chest, it provides bilateral support of the chest
When used with a No.12 triangular cushion or a No.6 cylindrical cushion placed behind the knees, it provides the following:
- Pressure relief at the diaphragm, facilitating respiration and oxygenation
- A reduction of contact pressure at the sacrum, lower back and buttocks
- Prevention of gastroesophageal reflux
