Bariatric equipment is specifically engineered and load-tested for higher body weights, with safe working loads (SWL) that typically range from 200 kg to 450 kg or above. Bariatric aids feature reinforced frames, wider seating surfaces, heavier-duty castors and mechanisms, and broader support areas to ensure safety and comfort for the user and reduce manual handling risks for carers and clinicians.
